For self-sufficiency, Evergreen is the solution!
TOV received a 10 hectare piece of land from the Ministry of Land and Resettlement in 2004..
Generous donations from DED (German Development Services) and the French Embassy have enabled TOV to fence off the land and also to buy some basic equipment. Our biggest donor on this land now is the MOHSS-SADC-DFID, they have helped purchase the water pump machine, solar panel for the borehole, irrigation systems, seeds, poultry, debushing and more. It is hoped that when the farm is completed the crop that is yielded will provide food for the OVC feeding scheme.
Any surplus food can be sold at the market in order to increase TOV’s income. It is also hoped that TOV can employ local people form the Tsitntsabis settlement nearby, which includes the San community to work on the farm and create employment for local communities.

Growing crops such as Maize forms part of the Evergreen project, as shown above; two of our workers pride themselves for a job well-done while in the maize field.
